Sorry I Annoyed You with my Compassion

I have been talking a lot about Nibbāna for some time now. And I realized last night that I have said quite a bit about what Nibbāna is, but not much about how to realize it.

And I also finally realize why certain people may misperceive my motives and react negatively for no apparent reason. We’ll get to that presently. Continue reading Sorry I Annoyed You with my Compassion

The Ecstatic Path

Authentic spiritual life is a path of luminous ecstasy. Everyone wants perfect joy, perfect pleasure. All human beings have a vision of the highest happiness and a desire to attain it. Pursue this vision, and we experience the natural ecstasy that is our real life. This is the highest value and the greatest satisfaction.

In ordinary conditioned life, ecstasy is kept far away. We find ourselves trapped in a drab world of routine, working hard to make others rich. Our choices and opportunities are limited to the offerings of corporate intermediaries. We are fallen into the world, alienated from our own happiness, even from our own selves. Ecstasy and Ordeal

Native American Sun DanceThere is a deep relationship between ecstatic states and ritual ordeal. They are often found as a consequence of one another: one seeks ecstasy through ordeal, and the taste of fresh ecstasy leads to desire for a new ordeal.

I once spent a summer camping high in the mountains. A man I met there said, “Sometimes it is good to experience difficulties. It helps us learn how to deal with difficult times.” Coming down to the plain after three months at 11,000 feet (3,600 m), I understood. After a summer in the wilderness at altitude, everything was easy and clear. Continue reading Ecstasy and Ordeal

The Art of Ecstasy

Ecstasy: intense feeling leading to self-transcendence. A high-energy experience, beyond pleasure and pain, that overwhelms the feeling of self.

Tantra, the Art of Ecstasy is an existence-affirming, life-enhancing path. It is also a practice: a way of life leading to extended states of ecstatic consciousness and being.

All sentient beings avoid suffering and seek pleasure—life is “being in search of ecstasy.” A space of awareness comes into being, accepting form and risking suffering, only because there is also a chance to experience ecstasy. Continue reading The Art of Ecstasy

Ecstasy, the End of Culture

Culture needs ecstasy but doesn’t trust it. Personal access to ecstatic states is the axis on which the wheel of culture turns. But people who are fulfilled and ecstatic are difficult to control. Thus culture regulates ecstasy, making it artificially scarce and expensive. It disintermediates personal access to ecstasy for purposes of motivation and control.

Culture evolves to fully exploit the possibilities inherent in its form, then devolves. Like all fabrications, a culture has a beginning, middle and end. The parameters set in the beginning are developed in the middle until the form is complete, then it naturally degenerates until a new cultural paradigm takes its place. Tantra, Gateway to Ecstasy

Bhairava Vijñana Tantra is an ancient teaching revealing an existence-affirming, life-enhancing path to self-realization: disentanglement from the causes of suffering and their results. It is a way of life leading to extended states of ecstatic consciousness and being.

All sentient beings avoid suffering and seek pleasure—life is being in search of perfection. A space of awareness comes into being, accepting form and risking suffering, only because there is also a chance to experience ecstasy. Continue reading Tantra, Gateway to Ecstasy

TRANSMISSION: an Experiment in Online Meditation

Things have changed so much since the momentous breakthrough I experienced on 11 August. In my previous videos I shared the path leading up to this realization. I was using words and symbols to describe my experience of discovering and traversing the Path. So I have already said whatever could be said. But now I am beyond anything that can be expressed in words and symbols. So this will be a silent sharing. It’s like a radio: you tune in to the transmitter’s frequency and decode the message. There MAY be time for a few questions near the end. Let’s get together and see what happens, 19 September 2015, 18:00 Sri Lanka time. Go to the YouTube page to see the time in your location.
